KMI announces code orange for heat

The RMI expects it to be very warm on Monday and Tuesday, with maximums reaching 35 degrees on Monday in many places and temperatures reaching 37 to 39 degrees on Tuesday. For Monday, code orange applies to the entire country, with the exception of the coast and the provinces of Liège and Namur.

On Tuesday, code orange will apply to the entire country. Code orange for heat requires measures such as drinking regularly, dressing lighter, spending the day in cooler rooms, monitoring health conditions regularly, eating easily digestible foods in smaller portions, and keeping doors and windows closed to keep out the heat. In 2019 and 2020, the RMI announced code red due to heat. No heat warnings were issued in the summer of 2021.
