KLM cancels up to 50 flights a day due to crowds during Pentecost weekend

Extreme crowds are expected at Schiphol this weekend as well. KLM is taking measures to keep it manageable, for example, the airline is canceling up to 50 flights a day. KLM will also turn the baggage system over to test it this weekend.

The passengers who had a seat on the canceled flights have been rebooked and can continue their journey. KLM has also freed up seats on other flights for passengers who cannot make their transfer due to the long lines at Schiphol. They can then join the next flight later in the day.

The luggage is normally brought on board for the passengers, but KLM will change that this weekend. To prevent luggage having to be removed again if people do not make it to their flight, the luggage is brought on board later.
