Klitschko sends shocking pictures from Kyiv

The Russian war of aggression in Ukraine is claiming more victims every day. Former boxing world champion Wladimir Klitschko documented the devastating consequences in the capital Kyiv on social media and showed shocking pictures in a video message.

“Putin’s dream of creating a greater Russia is my country’s nightmare,” Klitschko captioned a video he posted on his Twitter channel on Monday. The video shows the devastating consequences of a Russian attack.

“This is what Russia’s war against civilians looks like. Destroyed buildings, destroyed infrastructure. A city bus has just been hit by a rocket, lives are lost,” the former boxer commented on the dramatic images from the Ukrainian capital.

“This is the war that Russia started. This is the city of Kyiv. Many cities in Ukraine were destroyed, many lives were taken. This is the truth, these pictures are the truth of the Russian war against Ukraine, Putin’s war against Ukraine. That’s how it looks,” said a visibly moved Klitschko, who showed his followers the destroyed bus, a completely demolished house facade and the impact crater of the rocket.

In a second video, Klitschko again asked the rest of Europe for help in the fight against the overwhelming Russian army.

Showing another destroyed apartment building in Kyiv, the former boxer said: “This is the face of the war that Russia has started against Ukraine. Homes are being destroyed, lives are being destroyed. This senseless war must be stopped. Ukraine’s partners must do everything do to isolate Russia economically because all proceeds go to missiles and bullets. […] This picture speaks more than a thousand words. Stop this war now!”
