Klaus Hallhuber: brand founder died

The Munich entrepreneur Klaus Hallhuber has died at the age of 76.

Hallhuber, who laid the foundation for the clothing retailer of the same name, died on January 11th. This emerges from a digital obituary published by the Süddeutsche Zeitung at the end of January.

About Hallhuber

Josef Hallhuber and his son Klaus founded the company in 1977 and opened the first store in Munich. After around 18 years, the founder Klaus Hallhuber left the GmbH, which was taken over by Karl Schleicher, the owner of the Igolstadt clothing company Rosener. His wife Susanne Hallhuber will remain with the company as chief designer.

Schleicher is followed by several owners: the Italian clothing supplier Stefanel, the British investor Capital Partners LLP, the German clothing group Gerry Weber and the financial investor Robus.

After a Corona-related insolvency in 2020, managing director Rouven Angermann and chief financial officer Torsten Eisenkolb took over all shares in Hallhuber GmbH as part of a management buyout. Last May there was another insolvency, which could mean the end of the company if it does not find new investors.
