Kirsten Schilder: ‘I linked Monique Smit’ | WOMAN magazine

KIRSTEN PAINTER (38)

Kirsten is married to singer Nick Schilder and mother of three children, Nikki (11), Julian (9) and Jackie (5). She wrote the Making Memories Fill-in Book for mother and child.

From this fashion report…

“I have enjoyed it immensely. Just all the way through the ‘car wash’. And that with my friend Monique, who is with Martijn, my former neighbor from Monnickendam whom I used to babysit. I linked them!”

The mix of…

“I think Volendam items with new fashion are so special. As a not real Volendam, I remain very impressed by the gold lock and the red coral in the jewelry. And for the first time I was wearing a ‘hul’ (cap with earrings – ed.).”

At home I wear…

“A lot of easy clothes like a sweater, but when I go out with Nick, I also love to unpack. My favorite item? A white embroidered blouse, it goes well with everything: with jeans, a skirt, under a jacket. Nice and chic and a bit French, you can really combine everything with that.”

Unfortunately I have to say goodbye…

“From my plastic Gucci summer shoes. They almost melted under my feet in Las Vegas and lasted three pregnancies but wore out after 12 years. If you still have a pair in size 41, please contact me!”

Because of my height…

“Am I more of a sneaker type. But I do wear heels every now and then, because Nick is six feet. Only I’m like Cinderella: an expert at losing heels. I once lost my shoes just before the red carpet!”

My most precious outfit…

“Is the bright pink fluffy house suit that Nick gave me when we first got together, seventeen years ago. To watch movies together comfortably on the couch, so romantic…”
