Ylijoki broke up with musician Eicca Toppines in 2019. The couple had been married for 23 years. The couple has two adult children together and a warm relationship.
In a recent interview with Kauneus ja Terveys magazine, Ylijoki tells how a new love unexpectedly entered his life at the beginning of the summer. The couple met in the yard of an apartment building in Imatra. Lönngrén lives in the house, Ylijoki had a temporary apartment there because of his summer theater work.
– I was coming from theater rehearsals and Nestori from roller skating training. We were going in the front door at the same time and started talking. I quickly discovered that we are similar sensitive fairy souls. We spoke the same language. We both thought to each other that this is my person. We have been together since the first meeting, Ylijoki says in an interview.
The couple’s age difference is of no importance to either of them, says Ylijoki.
– Adventurous spirit and passionate curiosity, the ability for joy and happiness are the most important qualities I miss in my partner. I already have an independent and secure life behind me, says Ylijoki.
Living a unique life is important to Ylijoki.
– I have built a life that looks like mine. Now I can enjoy everything that I have collected in the treasure chest: people, professional skills and work projects, Ylijoki reasons.
