Two-time Olympic champion Faith Kipyegon of Kenya has won her second world title in the 1500m.
In the Eugene final, the 28-year-old prevailed in a high-class 3:52.96 minutes ahead of Ethiopian Gudaf Tsegay (Ethiopia/3:54.52) and Brit Laura Muir (3:55.28).
Sifan Hassan from the Netherlands, who won World Cup gold in front of Kipyegon in Doha in 2019, was not at the start. After the 10,000 m (fourth place) she runs the 5000 m in Eugene.
The former German champion Hanna Klein and the indoor champion Katharina Trost failed despite good performances in the semi-finals.
