The German record champion is pushing ahead with his personnel planning and extending it with a long-term service provider. Kingsley Coman receives a contract until 2027.
Champions League final scorer Kingsley Coman has extended his contract with Bayern. As the record champions announced on Wednesday afternoon, the winger’s contract runs until 2027.
The winning goal scorer of the premier class final of 2020 has been under contract with Munich since summer 2017. Coman’s current contract is dated June 30, 2023, the negotiations had dragged on. In terms of salary expectations, the club and winger are said to have been significantly apart at times. International top clubs such as FC Chelsea, FC Barcelona and Manchester City were said to have shown increased interest in the 25-year-old.
An important step for Bayern
Last month, the French had left his future open, but had already raised hopes for a timely agreement. “FC Bayern is a top club, one of the best and largest football clubs in Germany and the world,” said Coman. “We have had discussions, of course. The club will continue to speak to my advisors – and we may have news soon.”
Coman had had a minor heart surgery this season. “Everything has been much better since the surgery took place. I can now concentrate more on the game,” he said recently.
For the Munich-based company, the contract extension is an important part of the further squad planning. Last year, the club with top performers Joshua Kimmich and Leon Goretzka extended long-term.
