King Princess announces new album – first single “For My Friends” streaming here

King Princess is finally releasing new music again with “For My Friends”. The single is also the first foretaste of the new album HOLD ON BABY. The singer also announced that she would like to tour North America.

HOLD ON BABY is scheduled to be released later this year, further details have not yet been announced. A love song for King Princess’s oldest high school friends, “For My Friends” pairs her vocals with a stop-start melody of distorted synths.

“I thought it would be especially great to kick off the album release with a song about my two best friends from high school,” King Princess said in a statement. “These girls have been through this horror with me, and the more time I spend with them as an adult, the more I’m reminded that they are my home. So thank you my angel horse queens for staying with me. I love you all and I can’t wait to show you this song.”

However, the song is not entirely new. In mid-February, King Princess released a live version of the track from a concert at Madison Square Garden. The song is now available with the accompanying music video. Listen and watch the new single stream here:

King Princess also wants to tour again in 2022. Their North American tour is scheduled to kick off on July 5 with a concert in Vancouver.

HOLD ON BABY is King Princess’ second album, the predecessor CHEAP QUEEN was released in 2019. In January, the singer released the song “Little Brother”, a collaboration with Fousheé.
