During the spring break, a skiing holiday was on the agenda for the royal family. King Filip eventually canceled the trip, while Queen Mathilde and the children did leave.
According to the Palace, the decision has to do with the war in Ukraine. As commander-in-chief of the army, the king would like to remain well-informed about the state of affairs.
Normally, the royal couple also left for Congo next week for an official visit. That trip was also postponed because of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
