King Charles lays wreath on Remembrance Sunday to commemorate war victims | Royalty

Prince William also laid a wreath. Members of the British armed forces joined the royal family to commemorate the victims of the wars. A wreath has also been laid at the Cenotaph on behalf of Queen Consort Camilla, who watched the tribute from a balcony.

Remembrance Sunday traditionally takes place on the second Sunday of November, as that Sunday is closest to the date November 11. The Armistice in World War I was signed on November 11, 1918. It is the first time that Charles lays a wreath as king. He previously did so on behalf of his late mother Queen Elizabeth and as Prince of Wales.

LOOK AT. Earlier this week, the king and Camilla visited the city of York. There he was not welcomed with open arms and he was even pelted with eggs.
