King Charles got nervous on the pen – twice

Videos of Charles III have gone viral on social media.

Charles III was photographed on Tuesday at Hillsborough Castle in Northern Ireland signing documents related to his proclamation as King of Great Britain. The king’s face was obviously tense on the occasion.

– Oh my god, I hate this, Charles gasped after getting the signature on the paper.

The frustration was apparently directed not at the signing of royal documents, but at a much more mundane problem. Queen consort Camilla and the others who were present threw out their handkerchiefs in the hollow to help, when the ink of the pen spread over Charles’s hands.

– I can’t stand this damn thing, they do the same thing every time!

The video went viral on Twitter, sparking a debate.

– Maybe he could buy a decent pen. He has enough money, one commenter quipped.

– Grief is not easy for anyone. It strikes at the worst moments, then you just collapse. I hope people can be understanding, reminded another interlocutor.

You can see the CBS News video of the incident below.

The pen problem wasn’t Charles’ first.

Already at Saturday’s ceremony, Twitter chatters were amused by a video in which Charles was not satisfied with the pen offered to him, but preferred to write with his own. In the video, Charles shows his lackeys with hand signals that the offered pen is not suitable.

– Camilla is apologizing for him (Charles) with her eyes, commented on Twitter.

– Your highness, manners are free, said another interlocutor.
