King and Prime Minister receive President of Colombia | news item

His Majesty the King will receive the President of Colombia, Iván Duque, in audience at Huis ten Bosch Palace on Wednesday afternoon, February 16.

President Duque will then be received by Prime Minister Rutte at the Ministry of General Affairs. During a conversation in the Torentje and a working dinner in the Trêveszaal, various topics are discussed, such as initiatives in the field of climate and sustainable trade, cooperation in the fight against organized crime and the peace process in Colombia.

The Colombian Minister of Trade, Minister of Transport and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs will also join the working dinner. On the Dutch side, Minister Schreinemacher for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation and Minister Yeşilgöz-Zegerius of Justice and Security join forces.

Prior to the working dinner, President Duque and Prime Minister Rutte will sign a bilateral tax treaty, which will make investing in Colombia more attractive. The treaty will be discussed by the Dutch parliament later this year.

President Duque will pay a working visit to the Netherlands on 16 and 17 February. His program also includes visits to the port of Rotterdam, various Dutch companies, Europol and the International Criminal Court in The Hague.
