Kimi Räikkönen gave a rare interview.

The motocross team led by Kimi Räikkönen is going strong.
French rider Romain Febvre of the Kawasaki Racing Team MXGP owned by Jäämiei has won the previous five races in a row.
– Of course it’s nice to win and we’ve been working for this for several years. But sometimes results come and sometimes not. Injuries are part of this whole business, Räikkönen commented to the GateDrop site and continued:
– We know how easily things can go the other way.
Febvre suffered from injuries last year, but is currently seriously chasing the world championship.
Räikkönen has liked motocross since childhood and decided to found the motocross team Ice1 Racing during his driving career.
During his F1 career, Räikkönen competed in small races, but only for fun.
– Besides that, I had a small track for my children at home. I didn’t compete at a high level and for me it was part of a fitness program. I don’t know what any of my F1 teams thought about it because I didn’t tell them.
Confusing at first
Räikkönen’s team initially worked in cooperation with Husqvarna.
– In the beginning, there were completely different people than now. But it wasn’t what I wanted, it was too messy.
In 2010, Räikkönen spoke to the current team manager Antti Pyrhönen and almost immediately hired him as a driver.
Räikkönen called Pyrhönen again a year and a half later and asked him to lead the team.
Räikkönen’s team became Kawasaki’s factory team last year. Kawasaki provides financing.
Räikkönen said he was satisfied with the development of the bike.
– We started almost from scratch this year with a new bike, but now we have everything the way we wanted them to be. There are always things that can be improved, but this is a process. Things can be done very quickly, but the work must be done well. It has to be 100 percent what you want.
Räikkönen ended his long F1 career at the end of 2021. During his career, he drove for McLaren, Ferrari, Lotus, Alfa Romeo and Sauber.
He has driven two races in Nascar after his career.
