Radio host Kim Sainio and presenter Mari Sainio are celebrating their wedding anniversary today. The couple has been married for 14 years and together for longer.

Through the challenges
Sainiot have spoken in public about their everyday life with MS. Kim Sainio was diagnosed with MS in 2006, in the middle of the Big Brother season he directed. The diagnosis coincided with the beginning of Kimi and Mari’s dating.
The couple recalled the beginning of their relationship in an interview with Iltalehti this year. In the early moments of love, the timing was not the best possible: Kim was still married and the father of two small boys, terminally ill and in love with his colleague.
– My brain kept telling me that nothing would come of this. A woman so attractive and sporty doesn’t stay next to a disabled person, Kim poignantly recalled to Iltalehte.
However, circumstances did not come between the pair. The relationship progressed quickly and six months later they moved in together. Two children were born to the couple and they lived a new family life.
