The Run The Jewels rapper was “stoned” when he started the rumor.
Killer Mike has retracted his claim on Tuesday (20 June) that André 3000 was working on an album. The 48-year-old said he was “totally stoned” when he made the statement. In a new interview aired on US radio Thursday (June 22), Mike said, “I was stoned and just kidding, kidding you guys,” countered Killer Mike. “You guys took the joke too seriously,” he said. Then the Run The Jewels rapper added: “You know, [André 3000] always makes music. He never doesn’t make music. So I got a chance to hear some cool stuff…”
But no solo album by André 3000
False alarm for all OutKast and especially “Three Stacks” fans. The long-awaited solo album by André 3000 will probably remain wishful thinking for the time being. But killer Mike comforts us: “If you want to hear Dre, I know where you can do it. There’s this new album called MICHAEL.”SCIENTISTS & ENGINEERS‘ from Mike’s current record, which features André 3000 alongside Future and Eryn Allen Kane.
Killer Mike has also announced that he has another collaboration with André 3000 in the pipeline. André Benjamin, as the OutKast rapper is called, is said to have recorded a seven-minute rap part.
OutKast IDLEWILD’s last studio album was released in 2006. Since then, with the exception of a few rare features, there has been no new music by André 3000. He has been an actor since the early 2000s.
