Lepistö was supposed to play another role in the ice ballet, the Snow Queen’s counterforce called Spring. The new spring performer has not yet been announced.

– When I was asked for the role of the Snow Queen, my first thought was that it’s a shame that Kiira can’t make it. The next thing I got a huge enthusiasm and a tickling feeling. In the end, the decision was easy: I accept the challenge with joy, says Lepistö in the press release.

– It’s great to be able to jump back on the ice with a work group of this level – there’s a bit of that one more time vibe here. I bring new nuances to the role with my own skating style and personality, and I put myself into the game ambitiously but with a relaxed attitude.

In the press release, Korpi wishes Lepistö luck in his new role.

– I am extremely grateful that I have been able to participate in building such a unique large-scale production in Finland. It’s a shame that I couldn’t commit to the role of the Snow Queen anymore after the show had to be moved forward a year due to the corona virus, she says.

– My friend Laura will be a captivating Snow Queen and I want to wish her and the entire production the best of luck.

The Snow Queen the transfer of the shows was announced in December of last year. At the time, Korpi commented on his disappointment on his Instagram account.

– I can’t describe in words how disappointed and sad we performers feel now, because this show had already had time to rehearse into SUCH a wonderful entity, he wrote.

In September of last year, Korpi told Iltalehti in an interview that he was excited about his role as the bad guy in the ice show.

– Through the role, I have been inspired to feel the feeling of anger. Grief has been an easier feeling. I’ve thought about whether I dare to feel anger and in what kind of situations, and whether there would be a controlled way to channel it out, Korpi said at the time.
