Kiev promised to evacuate all residents in case of Russian invasion

In Kiev, almost the entire population will be evacuated in the event of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and the outbreak of hostilities in the capital. About it declared Director of the Department of Municipal Security of the Kyiv Administration Roman Tkachuk on the air of Hromadske Radio.

“In the event of hostilities, evacuation will be carried out, and only critical infrastructure workers and the Armed Forces will remain in the city,” he said.

At the same time, the official specified that “only critical infrastructure workers and the military will remain in the city.” Together with them, those citizens who refuse to evacuate will be able to stay in Kiev.

According to Tkachuk, in the event of the outbreak of hostilities, the metro will operate for a total of about six hours (three hours in the morning and three in the evening), at other times it will be used for shelter.
