Kiev considers it premature that several countries decide to evacuate members of the families of diplomats from their missions in Ukraine. About it declared Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba on the air of the ICTV channel.
“We are absolutely convinced that at the moment the decision to evacuate family members of embassy employees is premature. There are currently no objective, real conditions for this,” the minister said.
Germany and Australia began the evacuation of families of diplomats from Kiev
According to the minister, 4 embassies have already announced that they are beginning to evacuate family members of diplomats for security reasons. The head of the Foreign Ministry also noted that 129 diplomatic missions in Ukraine, including consulates located in the regions of Ukraine, continue to work as usual and do not evacuate.
Earlier, the US State Department announced plans to evacuate diplomats from Ukraine.
Following the United States, the United Kingdom began the same evacuation. She began to take some diplomats and their families out of the country – also because of the “growing threat” from Russia. Later, Australia also recommended that the country’s citizens leave Ukraine as soon as possible. Germany stated that relatives and friends of German diplomats who wish to leave the country can do so.
