All crime rates are higher than in 2021 and so are dog abductions. The pedigree dogs, especially the smaller breeds, are sought after by criminals, according to the New York Post, because they are fairly easy to carry and represent a hefty value. French bulldog puppy Bruno did not survive such a criminal adventure: his body was found Friday in the American state of Maryland.
This put an end to a four-month search for her Bruno for boss Jamaica Harvey. Her partner was robbed of her phone and wallet, as well as her puppy Bruno, on April 13 in Washington at gunpoint by four men.
The uncertainty ended on Friday. “I got a call from the Maryland Police Department that Bruno has been found dead,” she said in a tweet that has since been deleted. “My heart is broken. I want to thank everyone who has supported me during this time.”
According to the American Kennel Club, dognappers mainly target the valuable French bulldogs and really small breeds like Chihuahuas and Yorkshire terriers.
