Kickboxing parcel deliverer Mustafa Benlyazid on the eve of professional debut

On Saturday, kickboxer Mustafa Benlyazid fights his first professional match ever. He will do that at the Rings Gala in Beverwijk. “I don’t really see a difference between the A-class or B-class, so I don’t suffer from nerves yet. Maybe on race day itself,” said a relaxed Benlyazid.

In addition to a solid preparation, the IJmuidenaar simply has a full-time job as a parcel deliverer. “Sometimes you are exhausted after work. Then you prefer to do something else. Yet you start training and try to get the most out of yourself. You have to, because your opponent does that too,” says Benlyazid.

Difference

His trainer Brian Douwes notices that his pupil has looked forward to this match differently. “He is more motivated than before. He was somewhat easy before and that is different now,” said Douwes.

Besides Mustafa Benlyazid, there are many more fighters on behalf of Team Spirit from Beverwijk. Namely Jos van Belzen, Amir al Amir, Gaby van den Elzen, Youssef el Jaghaoui, Franky den Hartog and Garmondeh George.
