Kickboxer Hari for the last time against Overeem: “We are going to fight who is the best”

Alistair Overeem and Badr Hari will decide who is the better of the two tomorrow night. The two icons of the kickboxing world have had their day. Yet they meet for the third and last time in their careers. A title isn’t on the line, but eternal fame is more important than ever.

Overeem and the Amsterdammer fought against each other twice before at the K-1 fighting association. Both won a match making it 1-1 in mutual duels. “This will be the last time we fight against each other. I will enter the ring three more times and then I will stop. It will really be the last time against Hari,” said a motivated Overeem.

past seven years

The two legends have known each other for decades. Over the years they have developed a lot of respect for each other. Still, Overeem couldn’t resist talking about Hari’s poor run of games. “He has always been a great fighter. He has put in some fantastic performances. However, the last seven years have not been his best.”

Hari is only thinking about one thing tomorrow and that is winning. “Let’s be honest. Alistair hasn’t performed great in the past seven years either. We’re going to fight it out tomorrow. I’m going to make it very difficult for him and I’m really looking forward to it.”

Levi Rigters

Besides Hari and Overeem also fight Levi Rigters and Tariq Osaro against each other. For Rigters it is his first game in a year. The North Hollander will have to win to be able to dream of a duel with world champion Rico Verhoeven.

The Glory Collision 4 fighting gala starts tomorrow evening at 20.00 in the Gelredome in Arnhem.
