Puma brings back its ‘Mostro’ shoe model.
At the start of New York Fashion Week on February 8th, the German sporting goods provider presented a catwalk show that was all about sports shoes from the 90s, Puma announced on Friday. Under the motto ‘Welcome to the Amazing Mostro Show’, the brand transformed the Park Avenue Armory, the New York armory building, into a mystical setting.
Lights, projections and a musical performance by US multi-instrumentalist Eartheater heralded the return of the slim ‘Mostro’ sneaker (monster in German). Casual pieces from the brand’s AW4 collection complemented the shoe model to create complete outfits that combined different materials and streetwear elements. Introduced in 1999, the model with spiked soles and strap closures is intended to bridge the gap between sport and fashion.
American creative director of the ‘Puma x F1’ campaign and rapper Asap Rocky directed the ‘Mostro’ teaser previously released on social media to preview the show.
