Until Monday 6 June, the multi-day festival Yes In My Backyard will be held in the Victoriepark in Alkmaar. Caravan and Podium Victorie offer a wide variety of theatre, cabaret, circus acts and musical performances in the park for young and old. From short free acts, to full performances served with a meal.
“When we first came here in 2019 with Karavaan in the park, we thought ‘yes, this is it, this is really the place where you want to be'”, organizer Ilse van Dijk tells. Alkmaar Central.
According to Van Dijk, it started ‘with a little music’: “We just did what we like ourselves.” The organization thought it could be ‘much better’ and knew that ‘Podium Victorie really wanted to play outside’.
Collaboration with Victorie
Tobías Huveneers of Podium Victorie adds enthusiastically: “Last year we actually entered into the first collaboration. That immediately left us wanting more. A beautiful stage, a beautiful place, we had a good line-up, the turnout was very good last year. good.”
And that while corona was still a hot topic and spectators had to sit at the various acts. “We evaluated and said ‘please let’s do this again’ because it was really nice and the collaboration felt good. So, second time this year and as far as I’m concerned we will continue next year.”
