NPO 1 will continue after the summer with the viewing figure flop Khalid & Sophie. The men of VI are surprised. “I really watch everything else, but not this. There is no speed in this.”
Khalid & Sophie said goodbye to the viewer yesterday in a season finale that, as expected, attracted little attention: there were only 379 thousand people (17% market share) in front of the tube, not enough for a place in the top 15 viewership. Khalid Kasem and Sophie Hilbrand are still sure of their generous BNNVARA salary for the time being.
Wilfred surprised
In more than two months, on August 29, Khalid & Sophie will return for a new season. And that despite the persistently low viewing figures. “We are very satisfied with how the talk show is developing and are fully committed to this powerful title,” says broadcaster Bobo Suzanne Kunzeler.

Viewing figures
Only the NPO 1 combination Droomhuis Gezocht (841 thousand and 27%) and Tweede Hans (769 thousand and 22%) attracted more viewers than VI yesterday at prime time. RTL 4 takes bronze with the balloon show Blow Up, good for 634 thousand viewers (20%).
Programs that did not make it into the top 15 include Humberto (344 thousand), Nieuwsuur (329 thousand), 112 Today (290 thousand) and the Shownieuws Summer edition (265 thousand).
