‘Khalid & Sophie and Eva Jinek? Too left!’

Mona Keijzer issues a serious warning to the NPO. She thinks the plans to program Khalid & Sophie and Eva Jinek every day are far too far-fetched. “Stop the condescension!”

The NPO will be hit incredibly hard if it actually comes to a right-wing cabinet. As the winner of the elections, the PVV should be able to win a lot of points during the formation talks and then the public broadcaster is the easiest sacrifice that coalition partners can make. You would think they would be shaking at the NPO.

Mona warns

Well, that doesn’t seem so bad. Although the Netherlands voted more right-wing than ever in the elections, NPO 1 is setting up a talk show distribution for the next TV season that, according to critics, is more left-wing than ever. Khalid & Sophie, which is seen as left-wing activist, has been promoted to the late evening, and Eva Jinek will soon be seen in the early evening.

Mona Keijzer, BBB’s prime ministerial candidate, finds this unacceptable. “If it were up to me – and that is what I have always worked for – there should soon be pans, carried by whoever, that will solve people’s problems and that will also finally stop the condescension,” she says at the table On 1.

‘Far too left-wing!’

When Mona mentions the word ‘condescension’, she makes a bridge to the NPO. She warns the broadcaster that their current course is much too left-wing and that in any case she does not like it. “Now that I’m here, I’ll just say it: whatever the NPO is currently doing with the talk shows…”

She continues: “I find it incomprehensible that with what is going on in the Netherlands and such election results, you put on a left-wing talk show every evening and then Eva Jinek at seven o’clock, where there is often a certain atmosphere. is.”

Uncomfortable

Op1 presenter Tijs van den Brink does not ask any further questions. “This is a bit uncomfortable for us, so we will not discuss it further.”

Mona then: “I just want to say it. That is what is going on in the Netherlands and it needs to change. (…) It was clear to me that Geert Wilders and the PVV were going to win. If you have a sense of what was going on in the country – however cynical it is to note – after October 7 in the Dutch streets…”

IS flags

The BBB politician is referring to the day when the militant Palestinian movement Hamas launched a large-scale attack on Israel. Retaliation was merciless and led to protests in the Dutch streets. That has driven people into the hands of Geert Wilders, Mona thinks.

“With IS flags, Hamas flags, Palestinian flags, shouting that the entire Israeli population can be pushed into the sea, without any action being taken… That also had an absolute effect on the outcome of the elections. It was actually clear to me that Wilders would win, but the fact that it was so much is very special.”
