The talk show Khalid & Sophie will return to the air in a week and a half, but without the controversial Khalid Kasem. His co-host Sophie Hilbrand, despite the fact that she is not too popular, is allowed to stay and will from now on be accompanied by Jeroen Pauw. And many people are very pleased with that.

Sophie & Jeroen

The talk show name will temporarily change to Sophie & Jeroen. It has now been decided to highlight Sophie in the program title, probably to emphasize the temporary nature of Jeroen’s presentation. He will do the honors for the time being, but it is not yet known for exactly how long.

The reactions to Jeroen’s arrival are very positive. “My prediction was correct after all. Excellent choice!”, says TV expert Ron Vergouwen on X.

‘Logical choice’

Media expert Victor Vlam is also satisfied. “This is the only logical choice. Jeroen has the authority needed to stabilize the program that is in crisis.”

He himself previously advocated taking Eva Jinek out of Abcoude early to replace Khalid & Sophie. “My assessment was that Pauw probably wouldn’t do it. Hence Jinek.”

X-influencer MiesBee wonders whether this is good news for Sophie: “Sophie will be less enthusiastic in the shadow of the maestro.”

Mentor and pupil

The choice of Jeroen is striking, because he was like a mentor to Khalid. “I have had a number of conversations with Khalid. Just conversations, about work, about fun, about letting go of paper, about creating self-confidence,” the presenter previously explained.

What was his most urgent advice? “That if you loosen up, you dare more and if things go well, you feel better.”
