Khaled Pirzadeh has finally gotten out of prison.

Khaled Pirzadeh lost 68 kilograms in prison. PDO

When Khaled Pirzadeh was thrown into prison in the summer of 2019, he weighed 127 kilograms. In early February, the former bodybuilder got out, and the man’s weight was only 59 kilograms.

After his release, Pirzadeh told what happens in Iranian prisons.

– I say all this because I want to tell you that freedom of speech and human rights in Iran are a big lie, Pirzadeh assures.

The man was put behind bars just under four years ago after he had criticized Iran’s leaders. Pirzadeh was alleged to have “incited people to disrupt national security”. He was also accused of, among other things, “propaganda against the regime” and “insulting a senior leader”.

According to Bild, any criticism of Iran’s leaders could lead to a prison visit.

Behind the bars, Pirzadeh was tortured: his knees were crushed, his anterior cruciate ligaments were cut, his spine was broken in brutal treatment.

Pirzadeh was physically destroyed, but mentally he stayed together. The man protested the treatment of prisoners with a hunger strike, where he had been for the last four months. According to the Iranian regime, the withering was caused by an intestinal disease.

Pirzadeh was eventually released. Before that, his wife Zeinam Zobeidi had publicly asked for help. Zobeidi hoped that Pirzadeh would be released because the man had life-threatening illnesses for which he could not receive treatment.

Before prison, Pirzadeh was a bundle of muscles with a bicep circumference of 53 centimeters. Now he is like a shadow of his former self. Pirzadeh cannot be recognized as the same man.

He can no longer walk and sits in a wheelchair.
