Keylor Navas: ready to ‘win the Champions League with PSG’

Keylor Navas has lost the competition at Paris Saint-Germain against Gianluigi Donnarumma for the time being. In the coming season, however, the 36-year-old veteran goalkeeper can imagine picking it up again against his rival, who is twelve years his junior. Then his loan to the English first division club Nottingham Forest ends. On the French channel “Canal+‘ Navas said: ‘I still have a year’s contract in Paris. If I go back there and play, I also feel capable of winning the Champions League with PSG.”

With Navas, PSG had reached the final of the “premier class” in 2019/20, which went 0-1 to FC Bayern – the following year it was over in the semifinals against Manchester City. After the Costa Rican lost his regular place, he did not get more than the round of 16. This year Donnarumma did not look well in the first-leg loss to Bayern when Kingsley Coman conceded a goal.

Navas has been seeded since joining Nottingham on loan in January, but has also conceded 21 goals in 11 Premier League games and failed to do so just once. At the weekend, the “Tricky Trees” lost 2-0 to Manchester United. The keeper stood out with brilliant saves against Bruno Fernandes, but had to reach behind against Antony (32′) and Diogo Dalot (76′).
