Kering appoints new CEO for Alexander McQueen

Gianfilippo Testa has been appointed as the new managing director of fashion house Alexander McQueen.

Testa will take up the position effective May, French luxury goods group Kering, which owns brands including Alexander McQueen, Gucci and Balenciaga, announced on Monday. He reports directly to Kering CEO François-Henri Pinault.

Testa takes over the role from Emmanuel Gintzburger, who is leaving the company “to pursue new professional challenges outside of Kering,” the statement said.

Previously, Testa served as President of EMEA and VP Global Retail at Gucci. He assumed his first position at Kering in 2016 as Gucci President Greater China. Before that he worked at Kering rivals LVMH, including for fashion house Fendi in Italy, Japan and Hong Kong.
