On April 19, Kering and the French Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Inclusion signed a partnership agreement for the labor market integration of young people, vulnerable people or people with disabilities, a further step in the French group’s commitment to professional integration.
The signing of the charter is part of the “Businesses Get Involved” movement, which aims to strengthen lasting links between government and business in the field of employment. In 2021, the Kering Group employed over 42,000 people and generated total sales of 17.6 billion euros. Her goal today: to continue to promote diversity and inclusion at all levels of her organization.
Further development of recruitment practices
This new partnership consists of several commitments, starting with the special attention to young people from disadvantaged neighborhoods and with disabilities, with the measure of offering them permanent and fixed-term employment contracts. This commitment is called “1 young person 1 solution” and also includes expanding hiring to include dual contracts and internships, made possible through partnerships with companies, universities and schools specializing in the employment of workers with disabilities. These partnerships aim to promote professional integration and develop recruitment and training practices within the company.
“At Kering, we are committed to an ever greater diversity of our talents and support them all from the beginning and throughout their careers,” said Béatrice Lazat, Head of Human Resources at Kering, in the official press release. “This measure aims to make it possible for us “to go further in this regard”.
Kering is also committed to supporting young people from middle school upwards. As part of its 1 youth 1 mentor commitment, the Group will introduce mentoring programs run by volunteer employees at all levels of responsibility. The internal program “Giving Back” encourages employees to get involved with organizations that offer mentoring. In this sense, the group also supports the organizations through accompanying activities such as training workshops and awareness-raising rounds.
