end of career? Kerber in the “here and now”
The 34-year-old is not yet thinking about the end of her career: “As far as my future plans are concerned, nothing has changed, that in the here and now I’m doing everything I can to get the best out of myself and I’m looking forward to the upcoming tasks.” Over the Easter holidays, Kerber will compete with the German tennis team in Kazakhstan in the Billie Jean King Cup, the former Fed Cup. In the coming week she will start at the clay court tournament in Stuttgart.
Disappointing season so far
This year things are not going well for Germany’s best tennis player, who has slipped to 17th place in the world rankings. At the Australian Open, where she competed without match practice after a corona illness, she failed in round one, in Indian Wells the round of 16 was also over early despite the improvement in form.
