On December 18, Rolling Stones guitarist and songwriter Keith Richards celebrated not only his 80th birthday, but also his 40th wedding anniversary to Patricia Hansen, known as Patti Hansen. Richards wrote about the romantic picture: “For Patricia, Happy 40th Anniversary! I love you. Keith.” It shows the musician next to the actress in front of an idyllic seaside backdrop – both dressed formally in a tuxedo and wedding dress.

The current couple met in 1979 when Patti Hansen celebrated her 23rd birthday at Studio 54. The two began dating after Mick Jagger’s then-girlfriend invited Hansen to the guitarist’s 36th birthday. A few years later, the two married in Mexico in 1983.
Since then, Keith Richards has shown a special touch in the creative expressions of his love for his wife. She told in a 2011 interview with “Harper’s Bazaar”that he has often created mixtapes with drawings and made collages from photos and notes written in his own blood.

The couple also celebrated their 39th wedding anniversary in 2022 with a special snapshot Instagram. They recreated their wedding kiss, with Hansen wearing the same dress as before, Richards wearing a casual sweater and sweatpants.
