Keeper from VfB Stuttgart and formerly 1. FC Köln traded near Gladbach

Due to the loss of goalkeeper Jonas Omlin, Borussia Mönchengladbach could become active again on the transfer market. In addition to Ralf Fährmann from FC Schalke 04, Fabian Bredlow from VfB Stuttgart and Timo Horn from rival 1. FC Köln are now also being traded in Gladbach.

Omlin has been struggling with shoulder problems for a long time. The Swiss is even threatened with an operation – and with it a long absence.

“Now we have to find out what the injury looks like in order to then make a good decision as to whether we need to treat it conservatively or have an operation,” said coach Gerardo Seoane on Thursday. Seoane did not reveal who will be in goal against FC Bayern at the weekend, Jan Olschowsky, Moritz Nicolas and Tobias Sippel are available.

Ferryman from FC Schalke 04 to Gladbach?

However, should Omlin fail for a long time, Gladbach would have until Friday to sign a substitute. Speculations quickly circulated online that the foals Ralf Fährmann could tear away from FC Schalke 04. According to “Sky”, however, there is nothing to these rumors.

In addition to ferryman, the “Rheinische Post” names other potential candidates: Fabian Bredlow (VfB Stuttgart), Ron-Robert Zieler (Hanover 96), Rune Jarstein (most recently Hertha BSC) and Timo Horn (most recently 1. FC Köln).

Bredlow got a new number one in front of VfB with Alexander Nübel. Recently there was speculation about the departure of the former goalkeeper, a move to Hertha BSC was in the room at the end of July. According to “RP”, a loan would be an option, just like Zieler. However, it is considered unlikely that Hanover will give up the audience’s favourite.

On the other hand, Rune Jarstein, from whom Hertha had parted company about a year ago, and Timo Horn, whose contract in Cologne was not extended, would be available on a free transfer.

However, a transfer of the long-time Effzeh professional to the permanent rival from Gladbach would have a bitter aftertaste.
