Keanu Reeves’ home was broken into. The thieves took one firearm with them.
Actor Keanu Reeves, 59, was the target of a burglary. First, an attempt was made to break into Reeves’ home on Wednesday night. However, according to police sources, the thieves dressed in ski masks fled the scene before the police arrived. The police conducted a search, but found no one else there.
Later in the early hours of Thursday morning, police received another call from Reeves’ apartment when, presumably, the same thieves broke a window of the apartment and broke into the apartment. According to TMZ’s sources, the thieves took one firearm from the house before fleeing the scene. It is still unclear if anything else was taken from the house. However, the actor himself was not at home.
According to TMZ, detectives are still investigating and reviewing surveillance footage from the apartment and the neighborhood. One thing they are reportedly investigating in particular is whether someone who was inside the house at the time of the break-in called the police.
The house has been broken into before
This is not the first time Reeves’ house has been broken into. In 2014, a woman broke into the actor’s apartment in the middle of the night. According to TMZ, the actor was sleeping soundly when he woke up at four in the morning to sounds coming from his library.
Reeves got out of bed and went to look until he found a woman in her forties sitting in a chair completely speechless. However, the encounter was peaceful and the woman said that she had come to see Reeves. The actress called 911 and eventually the police took the woman to a psychiatric evaluation.
