Last year, Dogstar announced their return to the stage, 20 years after their split. A May 27th appearance at the BottleRock Festival in Napa, California has now been confirmed. The band, in which Keanu Reeves is the bassist, used to play with big names, supporting for example David Bowie and Bon Jovi, and performed at renowned festivals such as Glastonbury in 1999. Certainly also because of the charisma of the Hollywood star Reeves – or can you even name a song let alone an album by Dogstar?
They are also releasing new music that will be debuted at their next performance. “We will be releasing new music this summer followed by some gigs. As soon as all of this is certain, we will let you know immediately. … It’s the most satisfying and meaningful compilation of songs we’ve ever made,” the band wrote on Instagram. Before their split, Dogstar released the EP QUATTRO FORMAGGI (1996) and two albums OUR LITTLE VISIONARY in 1996 and four years later HAPPY ENDING.
Keanu Reeves is otherwise pretty busy. John Wick: Chapter 4 hit theaters on March 23, 2023, and has multiple film productions on the horizon, including starring in Jonah Hill’s dark comedy Outcome. Hill’s directorial work has not yet been released in cinemas.
