The former head of the presidential administration of Kazakhstan was elected speaker of the lower house of parliament
Former head of the presidential administration of Kazakhstan, Yerlan Koshanov, has been elected speaker of the lower house of the Kazakh parliament (majilis), reports Nur.kz.
Koshanov was registered as a deputy today and became speaker on the same day.
Koshanov has led the administration of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev since 2019. His predecessor as speaker, Nurlan Nigmatulin, has submitted his resignation.
