The authorities of Kazakhstan announced the stabilization of the terrorist situation in Alma-Ata, the orange danger regime was canceled. About it informs ORDA with reference to the operational headquarters.
“According to the decision made by the head of the headquarters, the high orange level of terrorist threat is canceled on the territory of the metropolis from 00:00 on February 7,” the message says.
Law enforcement agencies will continue to serve in an enhanced format.

During protests in early January, Almaty, Kazakhstan’s largest city, was the hardest hit. During the riots, shops and ATMs were destroyed, city administrative buildings, the old presidential residence and the airport were seized. Some buildings were on fire. Shooting and explosions were heard in the city for several days.
