Kayserispor President Berna Gözbaşı: We could not get to the signing phase with Ömer Erdoğan

Having parted ways with Hikmet Karaman after the 2021-2022 season, Kayserispor agreed in principle with Ömer Erdoğan for the coaching role.

President Berna Gözbaşı has issued a statement in the yellow-red club, which is claimed to be closed due to debts from the past. In her statement, President Berna Gözbaşı said, “Economic problems affect football not only in our country, but also all over the world. Nothing will be the same as before. We all need to keep our feet on the ground. We could not get to the signing phase with Ömer Erdoğan, with whom we agreed in principle. We are a deep-rooted, big club. We will continue on our way with a coach who will add added value to this team in a short time and will make our fans live with enthusiasm,” he said.

Ömer Erdoğan, on the other hand, made a statement on social media, “As a result of my last meeting with Kayserispor and its esteemed president Berna Gözbasi, with whom I have agreed on everything with the goal of a new challenge, I regretfully stated to them that this agreement could not be accepted by me due to the difficulties that developed regarding the transfer board. You I would also like to mention to the valuable sports public and Kayserispor community.

I would like to express my gratitude and respect to the Kayserispor fans, who have shown their love and support to me, both on social media and through messages, since the moment my name was mentioned with Kayserispor. I wish Kayserispor success in the next season,” he said.
