Kauppatori: Tourists taste Finnish food

We asked foreign tourists what Finnish summer food tastes like.

At Helsinki’s Kauppatori you can find different Finnish dishes in the style of street food. The shop is busy among tourists, as it offers, among other things, muikkus and various reindeer dishes.

Iltalehti asked foreign tourists what, for example, reindeer sausage tasted like.

An Englishman living in the United States Gaynam ordered a muikkudosan from the market. He was visiting Finland for the first time.

– Very tasty, a bit too salty for my taste, the British man evaluates the munchies.

He planned to try other Finnish dishes after he heard about reindeer and that it can be used, for example, as a pizza topping.

Sean and Robert From the United States, they didn’t know Finnish food before, but they had taken the reindeer sausage portion to the test.

– This doesn’t taste the same as previous deer sausages I’ve tasted. Good, but very different from venison in the US, says Sean.

– This is much different from a sausage made from white-tailed deer, says Robert.

Robert tasted traditional Olvi beer.

– A good pale lager. Good summer drink. I usually prefer dark beers, but I could drink this all day, especially on a hot day, he states.
