Kaufland’s online marketplace has stopped the sale of products from the sporting goods manufacturer Puma. The connected retailers were informed about this last week, writes Online retailer News, citing a letter from Kaufland that is available to the editorial team.
The reason is that Kaufland is currently negotiating “about the presentation of the brand” on the marketplace. Until then, Puma products cannot be relisted or sold. Existing products would not be displayed.
According to Online Retailer News, the campaign is based on the fight against counterfeit products. Kaufland itself does not comment specifically on this. “We are working on a solution to continue offering the Puma brand and hope to be able to enable our retailers to sell this brand via the Kaufland marketplaces again as soon as possible,” said a Kaufland spokesman.
How long the brand will not be present on the marketplace is currently unknown. However, Kaufland points out that over 45 million products are offered on the marketplace by over 11,000 independent retailers. “Due to this large selection of products, we can offer customers many other alternative products together with our dealers,” the spokesman continued.
