Musician Katy Perry’s skin color changed during the filming of the music video.
Katy Perry recalls in an interview with Vogue how her skin color changed during the filming of the music video.
The year was 2010 and Perry filmed a hit song California Gurls video. In the video, Perry dances in candy land and lies in a pool of cotton candy.
– I look pretty tanned in the video, don’t I? Actually, it was self-tanning. It should have been sprayed the day before filming, but I didn’t really have time, so I sprayed it the same day we shot the video, Perry recalls in an interview with Vogue.

– When you use self-tanner on the same day as you shoot a music video, your skin color changes in the middle of filming. I became more and more orange.
The color change could not be stopped, but the skin color had to be digitally corrected afterwards.
– The color correction cost a lot, because in one scene I was orange, in another even more orange, and then again orange in a different way.
Perry gives a tip that you should follow the self-tanner’s instructions.
