Artist Katri Helena tells about his life in a news book Katri Helena, singer (Johnny Kniga). In the work, the artist also opens up about his son’s death. His son Juha Kalaoja died in 2009. Juha was 33 years old when he died.
In the book, Katri Helena remembers when Juha told her recently that she has a feeling that she won’t live long. The conversation took place at Juha’s sister Hanna’s wedding.
Since then, the artist has wondered if the boy had any inkling of what was to come when he brought up the unusual matter with his mother. Katri Helena had reacted to the conversation by stating that such things should not be thought about.
Juha’s father had previously died of coronary artery disease, and Juha had also been diagnosed with that disease. Because of this, mother used to check from time to time, after all, the medicines had been taken.
– “Yes”, he always answered. “They are nothing serious for a 30-year-old,” the artist says his son continued.
However, the opposite happened, and Juha died at a young age. In the new book, Katri Helena also reveals the cause of her son’s death.
– Juha’s heart stopped while he was sleeping. It was the night of April 28 in 2009. Juha was 33 years old. Friends went to his apartment and found him, says Katri Helena.
When the sad message was brought to Katri Helena, for some reason she knew in her heart what was to come.
– Juha was buried on a bright spring day in the Jyväskylä cemetery, next to his father. A new name was engraved on the tombstone, where two birds fly in the same direction, the artist states in the work.
