Kato was a guest on the talk show with her husband Tom Dice (32) to talk about their new record that is coming soon. On a few songs Callebaut sings about the difficult period she has gone through. “A lot has happened in two years,” says the singer. “First I lost my grandmother, who actually raised me a bit, and then my mom too. Fortunately, that difficult time was brightened up a bit by our marriage, a very nice moment. But shortly after we said yes, I miscarried. That was the final blow, I was completely devastated. You can’t call it depression, but I haven’t been able to write music for two months.”
It was also a difficult period for husband Tom. “I tried to be there for her, but I couldn’t imagine how she felt,” he said. “It’s still a big taboo when a pregnancy fails,” Kato added. “People often keep quiet about this, especially if it happens in the early stages. However, I think it’s important to talk about it. In any case, our childhood dream is still there. I’m sure we’ll do it really well someday.”
The Starlings’ new record is called ‘Seaside’ and will be in stores from Friday.
