It remains difficult for Katja Schuurman to speak to the press now that her ex-lover is about to end up in jail. “She really just got up at RTL Boulevard.”
They do want to promote their trade, but do not want to talk about sensitive topics: celebrities. There are two women who are very bothered by their relationship with the controversial actor Thijs Römer. In addition to his last ex-lover Igone de Jongh, this is of course also Katja Schuurman, who has a daughter with him.
Tense atmosphere
Until now, Katja has spoken very briefly about the abuse case in which Thijs was convicted and that is why the media do not leave her alone. Every time she stands in front of a camera somewhere, she can of course expect that the reporter on duty also wants to know something about her bad ex-husband.
This week there was also a press thing for some film, where Katja gave numerous interviews. She was also seen in RTL Boulevard and afterwards Luuk Ikink indicated in the studio that there was a ‘tense atmosphere’ during the conversation. The fellow colleagues from Shownieuws now reveal what actually happened.
Katja got up
Bart Ettekoven, one of the stars of Shownieuws, speaks out. “She didn’t want to talk about it and everyone understands that. Of course everyone tried it on this press day. So do we, but she says, ‘I just don’t want to say anything about that.’”
He continues in the show section on SBS 6: “She even stood up at Boulevard when they kept asking about her ex-husband Thijs Römer, to whom she was of course married for nine years and has daughter Sammie, but she didn’t want to say anything about that.”
Statement
Katja indicated in the summer that she will always be there for Thijs. “As the father of my daughter, I will never let him down. I will do everything in my power to (continue to) contribute to a relationship between father and daughter that is as normal and loving as possible.”
For now, she has stuck with that statement. “Everyone understands that,” concludes Bart.
