Nena Kruizenga, one of the three women who filed a complaint against Thijs Römer for abuse, has revealed that she has been approached by Katja Schuurman. Thijs’ ex-wife, who also has a daughter with him, not only sent Nena all kinds of DMs and apps, but they also had a FaceTime conversation of 45 minutes.

Criticism of Natacha

During that conversation, according to Nena, Katja made a unstable impression. At one point Katja would also have invited her to come ‘chill’ in her sauna. Katja confirms that she has sent DMs and text messages to Nena – after all, there is also just hard evidence of this – but denies the statements she would have made in the FaceTime conversation.

However, according to lawyer Natacha Harlequin, it is in any case inconvenient that Katja has contacted Nena. “The police are under investigation. This has been going on for a while and the end is not yet in sight. It also strikes me that Thijs does not respond at all in any case,” she says in Shownieuws.

‘It’s awkward’

Katja must know her place, says Natacha. “If you combine those two things, so the person in question does not respond and his management for the rest also does not and the investigation is still ongoing … Yes, then it is wise not to contact them yet.”

She continues: “And why not? Because you may mean something completely different, you don’t know how it’s interpreted, but you don’t know where that information is either. And look, now it’s at [Story].”

Need for comfort

Could it negatively affect Thijs’ case that Katja has contacted Nena? “I can’t say, but in any case it will be looked at and a print screen will certainly be made. I can imagine the police wondering: why do you feel such a need to comfort her?”

Shownieuws presenter Dyantha Brooks: “And Katja says she believes her.”

Guido responds

Story editor-in-chief Guido den Aantrekker believes little in Katja’s denial. “Ah yes, Katya. Your crazy s*ks flight with KLM wasn’t true either, was it? While the captain threatened you with arrest at Schiphol for debauched behavior. Just behave yourself,” he says.

He understands Nena’s choice to blow out of school. “She says: ‘I don’t really believe anyone. I’m actually also portrayed as someone who may have made this up.’ I can imagine that if such a Katja says in such a message and on FaceTime: ‘I believe you’, that it is very important for her to tell that.”
