Nena Kruizenga, one of Thijs Römer’s three reporters, tells in Story that she has had extensive contact with Katja Schuurman. She is the ex-wife of Thijs and together they have a daughter. That Nena and Katja have been in contact with each other is no surprise, because juice channels have already noticed that Katja has started following Nena on Instagram.

Drunk and confused

After some messages back and forth, a FaceTime conversation was supposed to have taken place between Katja and Nena on September 9th at two o’clock in the morning. “She came across as drunk and confused. Bottles of wine appeared all over the screen. One moment she was crying, the next she was very happy again,” she says in the latest Story.

Katja said she was very angry with Thijs, according to Nena. And that she never contacted him again. Katya believed me. She did tell me that I had to take their daughter Sammie into account. That was also what I found the worst about my declaration. I felt terrible for their daughter. But the police also said: ‘There’s nothing you can do about that’.”

Chilling in the sauna

It seems that Nena is trying to say that Katja was trying to talk to her by talking about her daughter. “Katja said, ‘She’s going to high school but can’t make friends because of everything that’s happened.’ We FaceTimed those 15 minutes. She also invited me to her home. She wanted to chill with me in her sauna. Very strange.”

The Story also publishes apps that Katja has sent to Nena. She admits that the contact may be inappropriate because of ‘the whole legal story’, but the tone of those messages is quite personal and intimate.

Katya furious

Katja now responds pisslink in a story on Instagram. “Wow, Nana. How disappointing that after the conversation I had with you to hear your story and support you, it is now you are spreading these (again?) bizarre lies through Story.”

She continues: “The quoted texts are correct, I sent them to you. Those were loving texts to a girl who, in my eyes, was broken and confused. That hurt me to see. At that moment I feel a great need to comfort.”

“Nothing!”

Nothing else is true, says Katja. “That I would like to go into a sauna with you, was drunk and confused, and still have contact with you for days afterwards, none of that is true. Why would you say such things now, Nena? I feel sorry for how you feel, I wanted to support you. That was probably naive of me.”

She concludes: “It came from a well-meaning heart. It makes me very sad that this new load of lies and distortion of facts is the result of it again. I wanted to make it more human, but now realize that that may not be possible sometimes. It goes well and I sincerely wish you the best.”

Nena responds succinctly: “Lies.”
