Platinum Anniversary
William and Kate attended a special dinner at King’s House on Wednesday. This is the official residence of the Governor General of Jamaica, Sir Patrick Allen, who represents Queen Elizabeth. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are currently on a royal tour of the Caribbean in honor of the platinum jubilee of William’s grandmother, Queen Elizabeth.

Earlier this week, Kate already stole the show in a fantastic pink glitter dress. A day later, she was spotted in the color of this spring and this time she wore a beautiful emerald green ball gown with a modest train for the special occasion. The glitter and off shoulder made it a real princess dress. Kate honored host country Jamaica by wearing a dress in one of the national colors.

Tribute to Princess Diana
Kate’s outfit was according to royalty experts also a tribute to her late mother-in-law, Princess Diana. In the early 1980s, Lady Di wore an emerald green Nettie Vogues dress at least three times, including in her official engagement photos with Prince Charles. Diana’s ball gown, like Duchess Kate’s, was emerald green, fitted at the waist and short (puffed) sleeves.
