TOwe have seen Kate Middleton in Alexander McQueen, Roland Mouret, Burberry and Emilia Wickstead for the meeting at Harvard University. But, in Boston, for the Earthshot Prizes gala she defeated all expectations: she showed up with an incredible look. Between past and present. With a designer green dress Solace London and the famous emerald necklace that belonged to Lady Diana.
Kate Middleton’s rented dress
For the awards ceremony of the Earthshot Prize, the Princess of Wales, we were saying, she wore a green dress by Solace London. According to the Daily Mail, she rented it on the British site Hurr, defined as the “Airbnb of fashion”. And this makes it even closer to us. It means that 86 euros is enough to be a princess for one night. That’s how much the rental cost.
A good choice: Kate has thus shown that she is really attentive to the environment. According to Hurr the princess saved 339kg of CO2, the equivalent of 6 trees and 1209 miles by car.
Princess Diana’s choker
From princess to princess: Kate also wore the famous and incredible emerald choker made famous by Diana. It was given by Queen Elizabeth to the then Princess of Wales.
The emerald choker is one of the most important and contemporary pieces of Lady Diana’s jewelry collection. The emeralds were donated by Maharaja of Kapurthala “Emerald King” to Queen Mary of Teck, wife of King George V (Elizabeth’s grandmother) in 1911 and were then inherited by his granddaughter Elizabeth on the occasion of her coronation in 1953.
When Lady D wore it as a head band
The choker is in art deco style, it has a large oval shaped cabochon emerald in the center to which are added other smaller emeralds alternating with round brilliant-cut white diamonds. Lady D has completely “rejuvenated” the jewel. While touring Australia in 1981 he wore it as a head band together with a turquoise one-shoulder dress… It was the 80s and the choice – incredible – reflected those times.
