According to Music Business Worldwide, that’s not the case. Because: Kate Bush not only sings “Running Up That Hill”, she is also a producer and has the song rights to her work. So the Brit can keep most of this income for herself.
Bush himself a “Stranger Things” fan
Kate Bush was thrilled with the success. She also announced on her website that she was a big fan of the mystery series Stranger Things. “I was so delighted that the Duffer brothers RUTH (Note: Running Up That Hill) wanted to use for Max’s totem,” wrote the musician. She feels deeply honored that the song became part of the “roller coaster ride”.
The final two episodes of Stranger Things season four were released on Netflix on July 1. The soundtrack is now online as well. In addition to Kate Bush, Metallica, Siouxsie And The Banshees and James Taylor can be heard, among others.
